God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and Holy (1Peter 1:15) and lives eternally in high and holy places (Jeremiah 17:12, Isaiah 57:15). Man is a soul (Gen 2:7, 1 Cor 15:45) sinner, born in sin (Psalm 51:5), all have sinned (Rom 3:23), and lives on earth with mortal body (liable to die). God who only hath immortality and lives in unapproachable light, (1Tim6: 16).

Man has a quest inherently to see God and to reach God (John 14:8), because there is a spirit in man (Job 32:8). Man has invented different ways to see and reach God by his own wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:22) and efforts. As man seeks God in his wisdom and by other means like, through religion, he has failed in all his efforts to see him and find a way to reach him. Though, at times he might have felt He found the way to reach God, that has never met the spiritual quest of the man in its true sense.  Moreover, it is totally the man’s efforts in the soul and its power to reach God who is a Spirit and Holy.

God in His sovereign grace sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ. This is a manifestation of God’s love towards man, to reach the man. He came from above and from God (John 3: 13, 31). He is born of David according to the flesh (Romans1:3) like we all are. Who was declared to be the Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness … (Romans 1:4). Jesus Christ who came from God and lived here on earth, knows the way how to reach God from earth. Jesus Christ is both man and God. That is the reason He can open a way for us to reach God who is father of our spirits (Heb 12:9). If anyone says he can lead us to God, He should have known the way and accessibility to God. These things are found in Jesus Christ because of His divine nature.

In the beginning of his ministry where he formed the first circle of disciples, He told one of the disciple Nathaniel “… verily verily, I say unto you, ye shall see the heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man” John 1:51. He told the disciples that He is the ladder between heaven and earth and through him both realms will be connected. Prior to his appearance in body as a son of man, the way to heaven and God the father was not opened. Jesus Christ became the bridge between God and man, Heaven, and earth. This is the eternal plan of God for man which is manifested in the fullness of the time (Galatians 4:4). Either any man or any other plan of man can open the way to God in heaven for man who is on earth.

“…the way which he (Jesus) dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say his flesh;” Heb 10:20. Jesus Christ opened the way for man to reach God and this is called a new way that means all efforts of man or inventions of man which failed are gone and not needed now. This way is also called the living way. God said” … for man shall not see me (God) and live” (Exodus 33:20).  Living way was opened through the sacrifice of Lord Jesus that is by offering himself on the cross for our sins as well as to overcome the nature and power of sin. Those who believe in Him and on his work which was finished on the cross will enter into the living way to reach the father God. Those who believe will enter into this way and they will not die but enjoy the living presence of God. Amazing grace and plan of God for the fallen man.
